You just can’t make this stuff up. For those of you unfamiliar with the term “cockblocked”, urban dictionary defines it as “the intentional hindrance or disruption of consensual sex with malicious intent.” South Carolina’s mascot is the gamecock. Throughout the years this has proven to be a poor choice. Even Homer Simpson got in on the action when he told Lisa she could go to the finest college……..in South Carolina. “I will NOT be a gamecock!!!!”
Whoever came up with this headline obviously did this on purpose. They had to come up with something to grab the reader’s attention, since SEC basketball is a huge disgrace. I love the fact that the SEC is so terrible in basketball because of the monopoly they have on talent in football. Seriously, this league is an absolute disgrace to the game. The Atlantic 10 blows this conference away, but will probably end up with less teams than the SEC because the tournament committee is made up of a bunch of morons who don’t watch teams outside of the Big 10, ACC, Big East, Pac 12, Big 12 and SEC. You could make a case that the only team in the SEC that deserves to be in the NCAA tournament is Florida. The rest are all on different levels of terrible. Included in that group are LSU and South Carolina.
In this game a sophomore named Johnny O’Bryant scored 30 points and had 10 rebounds, accounting for nearly half of LSU’s 64 points. This was a monster game and probably should have been the headline. Nope. The headline grabbers want to sell newspapers, and they realize that no one cares that Johnny had a monster game for a team that’s going nowhere in a school where football rules.
OK, at least this one makes sense.
Oh yea, and LSU won this game 64-46. So how exactly did they get cockblocked? Doesn’t even make sense. I give the editor an A for effort, but ultimately this headline is a stretch. But hey, it got my attention and yours, so you win Mr. Editor.

To be fair, Kentucky wasn’t terrible before they lost Nerlens Noel, but otherwise you are right. This league is pretty awful.
